ECR Communication & Publication position
SIL is soliciting your nominations for an open position to the SIL Executive Board, for a term starting in October 2024 for 3 years. Eligible for nomination are all duly paid SIL Student and ECR members.
Becoming an ECR representative on the SIL Board can be an excellent opportunity for an early career scientist. If you or someone you know is interested in communication and publication, content creation, and working with a motivated team, consider submitting a nomination.
Nomination Details
As a SIL member you may nominate more than one member to be considered, including yourself.
For each submission, we ask you to include the following documents :
- a brief CV (1 page max)
- a statement from the candidate (1 page max) with an explanation:
- why the candidate is suitable for the position,
- what their vision would be for this position and SIL,
- details about their past contributions with SIL (if any) and,
- contact information for the candidate (may include social media handles and personal website link).
Candidates will be assessed by the SIL Nominations Committee and asked whether they agree to the nomination. Submitted documents from retained candidates should not exceed 2 pages in length and will be circulated to all SIL members during elections.
Candidates are welcome to become SIL members if they wish to run, but members with strong ties to SIL are encouraged to highlight this in their application.
