Assessment of drinking-water quality in Indigenous communities of Santa

📃This research brief introduces an innovative project which aims to empower Indigenous communities in relation to access to safe water through: (1) the establishment of a local laboratory with the capacity to analyze microbiological, physical and chemical parameters of water, (2) the transfer capabilities to the local community to ensure long-term monitoring and (3) the assessment of the water quality in 34 communal wells.
💡INSIGHTS: 
(1) Results of physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses show that 70.6% of the groundwater supplies are not safe for human consumption
(2) These analyses highlight the imperative need of water treatment and maintenance to ensure the quality of water in the local communities

Transdisciplinary adaptive participatory action research approach (TAPARA) for
