Mission

Promote the representation and participation of researchers from developing countries in SIL activities.

 

Activities

The Developing Countries committee aims to achieve its mission through different modes including Tonolli research awards, Wetzel travel grants for SIL conferences, and the mentee – mentorship program.
We also plan to come up with more activities to promote networking opportunities in different regions, specifically targeting researchers from developing countries.

Tasks for the volunteers

We invite volunteers to join the SIL Developing Countries committee, and help with our efforts to promote limnology in these regions. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to work with us. You will gain experience working with a diverse group of limnologists around the world, and contribute to the functioning of an important scientific society.

  • Identify researchers in developing regions and encourage researchers to join to SIL
  • Help with networking within SIL committees and working groups to promote limnological research in developing countries
  • Help organize online networking and training meetings and during SIL conferences. This will include working with other SIL committees as required.
  • Promote SIL’s works, publications and advancements in developing countries
