To become a SIL member:
Select below the appropriate membership category, create a member profile below, choose your billing method and pay your membership dues by proceeding to check out.
Paying online is made in US$ currency. The payment entitles you to SIL membership for a full year, which will start on the day of payment. Note that although paying through PayPal incurs lower fees to SIL, you will be able to enter your credit card detail without having or creating a PayPal account.
Regular Members: individuals interested in limnology who pay full dues.
Regular Members Dev Co: regular members from developing countries, who pay 50% of full dues.
Associate Members: scientific institutes, societies, and other corporate bodies that pay full dues.
Associate Members Dev Co: scientific institutes, societies, and other corporate bodies from developing countries that pay 50% of full dues.
Student Members: students (all countries) working toward a graduate or post-graduate degree. Student status is limited to a max of 6 years.
Early Career Members: professionals within the first 5 years after completion of their highest degree, who pay 50% of the dues in their country. Early Career status is limited to a maximum of 5 years.
Early Career Members Dev Co: same as above for members from developing countries.
Emeritus Members: individuals who, after retirement, request emeritus status and are approved by the Executive Board. Emeritus members can choose to pay no dues and receive no journal subscription (category A) or pay 50% dues and receive journal subscription (category B).
Emeritus Members Dev Co: same as above for Emeritus Members from developing countries, with a further 50% discount on annual dues.
Family members: couples wishing to share a joint license to free on-line access to publications. If one person is a member at the full rate, then the partner may be a member at 50% membership fee rate.
